RIBX RI Innovation Hub

On May 3, 2011, LGC&D sponsored the RIBX Innovation Hub at the Rhode Island Convention Center.  The Innovation Hub featured over 50 of Rhode Island’s promising knowledge economy entrepreneurs and early-stage ventures.  The Innovation Hub provided these ventures with a stage to share their stories, a gathering place to network, and access to audit, tax and IT mentors from LGC&D and professionals from Hub co-sponsors.




Tax Update 2010 and Beyond...Back to the Future?

On December 9, 2010, Richard J. DeRienzo, Jerrold N. Dorfman, John E. Finnerty, Jr. and Lynn A. O'Marra held a seminar for our clients and friends. They, along with Kimberly McCarthy of Partridge, Snow & Hahn, discussed issues relating to expiring tax legislation, newly enacted legislation for 2010, and issues to consider when deciding whether or not to convert that IRA to a ROTH. College and Taxes
On November 23, 2009, Leigea Landry (former Tax Manager) participated in a free college financial aid workshop to provide college-bound students and their families a better sense of the financial aid options available at the federal and state levels. Current Health Care Issues: Keeping your finger on the pulse of the ever-changing health care industry
On November 17, 2009, Michael Criscione (Principal), Pamela Sawin (Principal), Lynn O'Marra (Principal) and Pamela Bibeault (Principal of Triad Health Care, LLC) hosted an informational session about how to navigate through the current health care environment.

Improving Your Financial Knowledge in Today's Economy
On April 22, 2009, Michael E. Criscione hosted a breakout session at the Rhode Island Assisted Living Association's Conference and Trade Show. Michael's presentation touched upon some basic financial information for non-financial managers in the health care industry.

Not-for-Profit Informational Session
On March 5, 2009, Pamela L. Sawin hosted an informational session providing our clients and business associates with guidance relating to the new reporting and disclosure rules that are required when not-for-profit organizations hold endowment funds - defined as being income-producing funds that support their operations. Do You Have Unrealized Losses on Investments?
On March 5, 2009, Stephen Geremia (Principal) and Mike Camacho (Audit Senior Manager) hosted a seminar for our clients and business associates to provide them with guidance on evaluating whether investment losses incurred are required to be identified as other than temporary based on accounting standards and how such losses are required to be reported within financial statements.


IRS Form 990 Presentation and Documentation
On May 13, 2008, Pamela Sawin (Principal), Michael Criscione (Principal) and Martha Hultzman (Audit Senior Manager) made a presentation to our clients and business associates regarding the IRS's Form 990 that became effective as of 12/31/08.
